The automated Lan-Inspector backup function also serves as a foundation for the direct archive access. The Lan-Inspector backup service creates automated backups for every day. By default, the number of backup days is 14. If your company needs to be revisable for 10 years, increase the value to 3650 days. The backup service creates archives of the last 14 / 3650 retroactive days. It will delete all the backups of days older then this value. If you look back into the past by using the archive function in the frontend, please note that you have read only access to the archives. Using the archives, you can directly restore a view upon each past day of the backup period.
You can also create backups manually by clicking on the corresponding button. Here in the Backups and Archive dialog, you can also restore or delete data states of archives created in the past. As the restored data becomes the current data state, the write protection will be disabled.
