Usually, you don’t need this function if you use automated scans for all PCs and servers. However, sometimes you don’t want the scan-engine to access the servers directly during scans. It maybe the case that you only want to execute the “mobile Agent” to collect their data, creating EXP-files for the servers. If you have a location (example in the picture: “HH Servers”) with only 120 server objects, and you import 100 EXP files, because 20 servers are gone, the 100 objects get their update, while the 20 servers without EXP file will count up their failed scan counter. Using this method, you can easily identify dead objects, even if you only use EXP-Import for updates of data.
