In analogy to the extended registry search, you can specify files as a marker for a software on the remote computers. If the file exists on the hard disc the named software product will be added to the scan record of that computer.
Please note that this function looks for one file to identify an installed software product. This is not a file collector like the function hard disc file scan, see 6.9.1.6 Partition File Scan Settings.
There are two modes you can configure for extended file searches: “Only path description” and “Search in Partitions”.
